Geographical Setting

Near Sela, at Zeleni vir in the Mrtvica Gorge, there is a stone bridge dating from 1858. For centuries, the water of the Ibrištica served a monastery mill and a fulling mill near Sela. Local tradition connects Sela with memories of the Macura people.
Visitors can see Morača Monastery near Sela. The medieval Orthodox monastery was built in 1252 and contains elaborate frescoes. Among them is a fresco that won an award for the most beautiful fresco in the Byzantine style at an international exhibition in Paris.
