Kelmė: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Kelmė Manor complex is a state-protected cultural heritage site and is considered a rare surviving Baroque manor settlement in the Lithuanian province. Nine buildings from the manor settlement period have been preserved at Kelmė Manor.

Culture

The Evangelical Reformed Church of Kelmė is a preserved building in a blend of Gothic and Renaissance styles and has a Gothic three-sided apse. It was built in 1615 with financial support from Jurgis Gruževskis.

Art

The AJJU Art Museum features a special art collection created by all four family members. The AJJU Open-Air Gallery and the AJJU Art Museum are both located at Dariaus ir Girėno g. 95 in Kelmė. A stream flows through the AJJU Open-Air Gallery; visitors can view the paintings while standing on a footbridge. A flower-painted bus visible in the fields serves as a landmark for the AJJU Art Museum.

History

The 1831 uprising against Tsarist Russia began in Lithuania at Kelmė Manor.
