Routes with clear landmarks

For the B1 route, the period from May to October is recommended, provided there is no snow. The circular route is also available as a GPX track. This means that planning includes both a seasonal framework and a digital version of the route. The period refers to the date, while the GPX track supplements orientation along the route.

A mountain-bike connection also passes near Bertigo: The route from Asiago to the Astronomical Observatory uses the unpaved Via Tilman and reaches a paved road near Località Bertigo. Historical traces in the landscape

The trails also lead into the history of the First World War. The B1 passes through places affected by the Battle of the Three Mountains. The Via Tilman route follows the path taken by Major H. W. Tilman on his way to his command post during the war.

An excursion to the monument to Captain Eugenio Niccolai in Località Melaghetto leads to Cima Valbella and the Monumento ai Bersaglieri. It passes through Contrada Bertigo, by the Sciovie di Valbella and onward to Contrada Laben.

At the summit of Monte Valbella there is a sacred area with a memorial stone, altar and cross. It commemorates the Bersaglieri who fell in these mountains.

Forest, pastureland and a longer hike

The route “Il Sacrario Militare e la Calà del Sasso” passes through Contrada Bertigo and is 13 km long. It includes numerous places associated with the First World War and, in particular, the Battle of the Three Mountains, and runs through forests and pastureland. The stated distance provides a concrete basis for planning the day.

A short route leads from Bertigo to Malga Ronco di Carbon. Optionally, it can be continued along a short unpaved road to Casara Stenfle. The route reaches Casara Stenfle only if the optional continuation is chosen.

Alpine ski slopes as another aspect

Alpine ski slopes run along the slopes of the Cima Ekar area.
