The woodworking tradition of San Vito di Leguzzano is documented at the Museo Etnografico sulla Lavorazione del Legno. The museum displays a collection of more than 4,000 objects. It is housed in former stable, barn and cellar rooms belonging to a building complex from the 15th century, which was part of the now-vanished Villa Priorato-Gandin complex.

Churches, art and local history

The parish church of Saints Vitus, Modestus and Crescenzia is designated as a protected historic building. It preserves works by Giovanni Battista Maganza from the 16th century, as well as paintings by Francesco Maffei from the 17th century. The bell tower particularly characterizes the townscape: it is the only octagonal bell tower in the Diocese of Vicenza, stands 64 metres high and was built according to a design by Vittorio Barichella between 1895 and 1902.

The church of San Valentino di Leguzzano was built between 1570 and 1578 at the site referred to as “mons Luguzani”. Its stone high altar was created in 1579 by the local sculptor Bartolomeo Mercante. The Church of the Immaculate Conception, also known as Chiesa di Sotto, preserves a rare fresco. Villa Almerico, Dalla Vecchia, Novello is associated with the building type of a 15th-century Venetian villa, features Gothic design elements and extends over three levels.

The past of work and craftsmanship also remains visible. The Compagnia dei Battuti was a lay confraternity in the Middle Ages. A 20th-century building wing and the brick chimney of the former Fabris–Pozzani–Tonin silk mill are designated as evidence of industrial history.

Paths through valleys, forests and meadows

The landscape of San Vito di Leguzzano includes the Torrenti Refosco and Livergon, which run from north to south and together form the Torrente Giara. To the east lie the Fossato Proe and the Torrente Leogra, as well as the smaller Valle Pra Longhi, Valle dell’Orco, Valle Bisele, Valle Nogara, Valle della Volpe and Valle della Guizza valleys.

The Sentiero Natura 1 – Percorso Rosso connects old rural hamlets, deciduous forests and higher-altitude meadows with views over the plain of Vicenza and the Pasubio Group. Red markings and signposts identify the fully signposted trail, which can be walked in both directions. The Sentiero Natura 2 – Percorso Verde follows marked paths through forests, past small streams, across hilly meadows and through rural hamlets with stone houses, dry-stone walls and old farm tracks. It begins at the war memorial at the intersection of Via Chiesa and Via Sant’Antonio; wooden trail markers indicate the route there.
