Padola is home to the Chiesa di San Luca Evangelista, which was built between 1862 and 1869 according to the plans of architect Giuseppe Segusini. The Chiesa Madonna delle Grazie is also located in Padola. The hexagonal building with an atrium was constructed in 1859 based on a design by engineer Francesco Sandi; the church is opened for religious services. The Museo della Cultura Alpina e Ladina del Comelico displays more than 4,000 objects in themed sections. A large hall is dedicated to the First World War in Comelico, while explanatory panels in Italian, Ladin, English and German guide visitors through the sections.

Traces of the region's economic history can also be discovered: La Stua below Padola is an artificial dam on the Torrente Padola that made it possible to float timber downstream. The Antica Cava di Tufo di Padola preserves visible traces of the valley's historic economic activity. It is located northwest of the village on the way to Lago di Campo and can be seen shortly before the lake on the left-hand slope, with a view towards Monte Aiarnola.

Hiking between Padola and Valgrande

The Cammino degli Alti Pascoli is a circular hiking trail approximately 100 kilometres long with 5,225 metres of elevation gain. It starts in Padola and returns there. The fifth stage leads from Padola along the stream on level ground to Valgrande, then follows trail 171 along the Torrente Risena towards Selvapiana and to the hollow containing Rifugio Lunelli. In the vicinity of Padola lies Valgrande, with high biodiversity, beech, larch and spruce forests, natural sulphur springs and opportunities for family walks.

Cycling tour and ice-skating facilities

The “Padola – Valgrande – Padola” cycling tour is classified as easy, is 10 kilometres long and takes about one hour. It starts at Padola's lifts, heads towards Lago di Campo via a forest track and returns to Padola along a cycle path. Padola is also home to the Pattinaggio Kral Ladin ice rink at Via Valgrande 21. The ice-skating facilities also offer evening skating and on-site skate rental.

Winter sports and practical information

The Ski Area Val Comelico is part of the Dolomiti Superski network, with 115 kilometres of pistes and 31 lifts. Scuola Sci Padola offers private and group lessons on the slopes for adults and children, from beginner to advanced levels. The cross-country ski trails in Comelico run through the forests and belong to the Dolomiti Nordic Ski network, with 1,300 kilometres of pistes and a shared ski pass. Electric vehicle charging stations are available in Padola at Via Torrente Padola and at Via Valgrande 21 by Kral Ladin.
