Auronzo di Cadore: Monte Agudo, Lakes and Mountain Trails

In Auronzo di Cadore, mountains, lakes and a variety of activities come together. Trekking and summer hikes in the Marmarole massif can start directly from the town of Auronzo or its immediate surroundings. At Lago di Auronzo, the lake can be explored by kayak, rowing boat and pedal boat. This puts trails in the mountain massif and activities on the water side by side as different options for the day.

Camignada: Mountain Run and Fixed Route

A fixed date in the annual calendar is the “Camignada poi siè refuge”. It is a traditional, non-competitive mountain run covering 30 kilometres and takes place on the first Sunday in August. The route leads from Misurina via Rifugio Auronzo, Rifugio Lavaredo, Rifugio Locatelli, Rifugio Piani di Cengia, Val di Cengia and Val Marzon, as well as along the cycle path to the finish in Auronzo di Cadore. At 30 kilometres, the entire route is just as relevant to planning the mountain run as the fixed date in August.

Tre Cime Adventure Park and Monte Agudo

Tre Cime Adventure Park comprises six courses at different heights. Five of them increase in difficulty; the most challenging reaches a height of up to 14 metres. In addition, the park has a viewing platform 20 metres above the ground, offering views of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the Dolomites. The increasing difficulty of the five courses can be taken into account when choosing within the park.

The Monte Agudo ski area in Auronzo has just under 20 kilometres of pistes and two chairlifts. The upper part of Monte Agudo, a spur of the Marmarole, reaches 1,585 metres and offers views of Auronzo town centre and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The Fun Bob track starts next to the mountain station of the Taiarezze-Malon chairlift at 1,361 metres above sea level. For a day at Monte Agudo, the pistes, views and the starting point of the track ride can be considered as separate points of interest.

Cycle and Walking Path between Auronzo and Misurina

The 30-kilometre Auronzo-Misurina cycle and walking path connects Lago di Santa Caterina in Auronzo with Lago di Misurina. It is completely unpaved and has no road crossings. The approximately 15-kilometre section from Auronzo to Palùs San Marco belongs to the same connection. For day planning, a distinction must therefore be made between the entire 30-kilometre connection and the approximately 15-kilometre section.

Town Centre and Tourist Information

In Auronzo town centre, historic buildings made of light-coloured stone stand by the lake; an easy circular path leads around them. IAT Auronzo provides tourist information and advice on hikes and activities. IAT also issues fishing permits and provides information about events.
