To the Baita dei Cacciatori

The Baita dei Cacciatori is situated at an altitude of 1,751 metres at the foot of Cime d’Auta. It is about an hour’s walk from Colmean and can only be reached on foot or by mountain bike. The route from Colmean to the Baita dei Cacciatori follows trail no. 689 along a forest road through the woods. It crosses the Cajada stream and then continues for approximately fifteen minutes to the hut. When planning access, both the approximate walking time to the Baita and the additional section after crossing the stream are relevant. This makes it possible to divide the route into a longer section up to the crossing, followed by an approximately fifteen-minute section to the hut.

Panorama at Col Becher Pass

At Col Becher Pass, at an altitude of 2,312 metres, 360-degree panoramas open up. At 2,312 metres, the pass is higher than the Baita at 1,751 metres, but lower than Cima d’Auta orientale at 2,624 metres. At the pass, the focus is on the panoramic view; the via ferrata and the route to the Baita, by contrast, pass through their respective sections of the mountain landscape. For a day focused on altitude and views, the pass is therefore clearly identifiable as a separate point alongside the routes described.

Culture in Canale d’Agordo

In Canale d’Agordo, the Via Crucis runs for approximately 2 kilometres from Piazza Papa Luciani to the village of Cavallera and includes fifteen bronze plaques. At approximately two kilometres, it is shorter than the 11-kilometre hike starting from Colmean.
