Naregno combines a distinctive coastal landscape with historic sites and water sports. Naregno is a bay enclosed by two pine groves. Naregno Beach stretches along a long sandy bay. From Spiaggia di Naregno, a path leads through the Mediterranean maquis to Forte Focardo. The maquis forms the landscape section between the sandy shore and the fortress. The path therefore leads through Mediterranean vegetation to a structure with a military history.

Beach Destinations around the Bay

Spiaggia di Naregno, a beach on the bay, is located in the immediate vicinity of Naregno. Spiaggia Di Barbarossa, Calanova and Istria are also nearby; these three destinations are additional beaches. The area around Naregno therefore includes several specific coastal spots: Spiaggia di Naregno is part of the long sandy bay, while Barbarossa, Calanova and Istria complement the beach landscape. Naregno’s coastal landscape can thus be described through the bay itself and the other beaches in the immediate vicinity.

Path through the Maquis to the Forte

Forte Focardo is located in the immediate vicinity of Naregno and is a fortress. Forte Focardo was begun in 1678 under the Spanish Crown. It was built to prevent enemy fleets seeking shelter in the bay from firing on the San Giacomo di Longone fortress. The fortress is therefore connected with the protection of the bay and the San Giacomo di Longone fortress.

Castle, Museum and Palace

Castello del Volterraio, a castle, is also located in the area around Naregno. The Museo Nazionale Delle Residenze Napoleoniche, a museum, and Villa di San Martino, a historic building and palace, are also in the area. Thus, in addition to Forte Focardo, the area around Naregno offers a castle, museum and palace as historic destinations.
