Hiking trails through the Valle Padonchia

The Citerna–Monterchi Trekking Route initially follows signpost 10 along the Torrente Cerfone and then branches off via Omarino towards Padonchia. Further along, it changes from signpost 10 to signpost 152a in the direction of the Valle Padonchia. For day planning, signposts 10 and 152a provide two specific orientation points along the route. In Umbria, it connects Monterchi with Citerna via Lippiano and then leads back to Monterchi.

The Sentiero 153 SL Monte Santa Maria Tiberina – Lippiano – Padonchia ends in Padonchia after descending to the Valle Padonchia and then ascending to the ridge. The descent to the Valle Padonchia and the ascent to the ridge can be planned as two stages of the route. Along this trail, it passes through an oak-wood area and a field and, after crossing a public road, reaches the bed of the Torrente Erchi. The Sentiero 153 SL forms part of the multi-day Sentiero dei Laghi, which connects Lago Trasimeno with Lago di Montedoglio.
