Discover Pietra: Holiday Apartment, Cliffs and Cima Verde

The Sentiero alpinistico del Coràza begins in Pietra and leads to Sella NE Doss d'Abramo. With a length of 6,070 m and 50 m of secured sections, the route has a clear course. When planning the day, both the total length and the secured passages must therefore be taken into account. Those who divide up the Coràza Trail can expect a long route and secured sections.

Cliffs below Pala Granda

The cliffs along the route consist of oolitic Jurassic limestone, which formed around 170 million years ago. The Sentiero alpinistico del Coràza runs along a long rock ledge below an overhang at the foot of Pala Granda. The oolitic Jurassic limestone is therefore just as much a part of the landscape as the long ledge and the overhang.

Gorge and Bait del Corazza

The path leads towards a gorge, at the bottom of which the remains of the Bait del Coraza can be found. The Bait del Corazza lies at the foot of a limestone wall. A short detour from the path leads to the Bait del Corazza at around 1,880 m. On this part of the hike, the gorge, remains and limestone wall come together.

Ridge, summit and return route

From the Bait del Corazza, the path follows a ridge to the summit of Cima Verde. On the return journey from Cima Verde, Sentiero 630 leads towards Baita Sparavei and then joins the outward route to Pietra again. For hike planning, the return via Sentiero 630 is part of the overall route. The return to Pietra is therefore just as much a part of the route as the ascent to Cima Verde.

Animals, plants and protected area

In one section of the path at around 1,900 m, chamois and rock ptarmigans, as well as various protected flower species, are frequently encountered. In the wider regional surroundings of Pietra, the Riserva Naturale Integrale delle Tre Cime di Monte Bondone also includes Cima Verde. Cima Verde is therefore both the destination of the ridge and part of the protected area. The natural section combines the observation of chamois and rock ptarmigans with protected flower species.

Crafts in the area around Cimone

The area around Cimone also has an old and renowned tradition of wood craftsmanship. For those interested in culture, this provides a specific connection to Cimone and its wood craftsmanship. Woodworking stands as a separate topic alongside the route of the Coràza.

Parking spaces at the access point

In Pietra, there is a first parking area at the access point to the Sentiero del Corazza, as well as another parking area in the direction of Finestrella. These two points are useful for practical orientation at the beginning of the path in Pietra.
