Santa Filitica includes the remains of a Roman villa from the imperial period, a Byzantine settlement and numerous traces of the site's continuous occupation from the 3rd to the 9th century AD. Excavations carried out in 1980 uncovered polychrome floor mosaics depicting fish, birds, fruit and a woman's head.

The remains of the Tonnara di Perdas de Fogu lie on the coast of Marritza beside a small pebble beach. Today, only an approximately 40-metre-long exposed section of the tonnara remains visible. During the seasonal migrations of the tuna, it was used for tuna fishing.
