Holiday apartment in Roburent: mountains, routes and culture

Roburent between the Corsaglia and Casotto valleys

Roburent lies at an altitude of 800 metres on a broad ridge between the Corsaglia and Casotto valleys. This location provides a clear framework for different kinds of holiday when choosing a holiday apartment in Roburent: the focus can be on mountain trails, cycling, winter sports or culture. Monte Savino is a particularly tangible destination. The route from Roburent to Monte Savino via San Bernardo begins behind the parish church of Roburent and ends at Monte Savino, which rises to 1,089 metres. From its summit, there are views of the Ligurian Alps and parts of the Mondovì plain.

Routes for bicycles and hiking boots

The “Anello della Navonera” circular route is considered a classic mountain-bike route and can also be explored on foot. The “Forni del Monte Alpet” route begins and ends in Prà di Roburent and is 7,610 metres long. There is a car park in Prà di Roburent for this purpose. Along the way, the route passes through small hamlets, each of which has a restored communal oven. At Case Rosa, you can take a close look at the traditional roof-building technique known as “tetto racchiuso”. This trail therefore combines physical activity with insights into traditional building and village structures.

Mountain-bike activities at Monte Alpet

The Monte Alpet Bike Village near Cardini in Roburent is set in natural surroundings and offers activities for sports enthusiasts and families with children. These include a bicycle workshop, rental of downhill, freeride and e-bikes, protective equipment and a bicycle-washing area. Those who would like to include these activities in their stay can choose their preferred balance between tours and other experiences when searching for accommodation in Roburent.

Winter at Sangiacomo Cardini Ski

The lifts connect the village at an altitude of 1,011 metres with Monte Alpet at 1,611 metres. In the Sangiacomo Cardini area, you can also explore numerous snowshoe routes independently or with a guide. This means that, alongside skiing, there are other winter routes through the area.

History in Roburent and Prà

The fortified complex in Roburent dates from the 11th century. Its preserved round tower is called “La Saracena” and became a landmark of Roburent because of its elevated location. In the hamlet of San Giacomo stands a church built in the mid-18th century in the Piedmontese Baroque style. Prà preserves evidence of the Salt War: the final clashes of the conflict took place there on 8 March 1699, with many farmhouses destroyed by fire. The rock above Prà is still called “Rocca dei morti” today, in memory of the Salt War.

Events with their own distinctive character
