Historic centre and notable buildings

The parish church of San Michele Arcangelo preserves frescoes that were removed from the Chapel of San Pietro.

The Museo storico houses a Roman stele from the 1st century AD. The museum also contains ethnographic objects from Mombarcaro and the surrounding towns. Visits to the Museo storico are available by appointment on Sundays in June, July and August between 3 and 5 p.m. This allows you to complement a walk through the centre with a specific insight into the region’s past.

Trails between Bragioli, Lunetta and the Belbo

The Passeggiata della Valle Belbo leads from the hamlet of Bragioli in Mombarcaro to San Benedetto Belbo. A Roman bridge has been preserved along the route; the ruins of an old mill can also be seen there. GTL Stage 07 begins at Piazza San Michele Arcangelo and leads to the hamlet of Lunetta in Mombarcaro. From Lunetta, the route continues along the Sentiero della Valle Tanaro.

Lunetta is a small hamlet of stone houses in Mombarcaro. The Chapel of Santa Caterina is located there. The different routes help you organise your holiday according to your preferred focus: you can combine historic townscapes with a longer trail or plan individual discoveries around the centre and hamlets.
