Sacred Art and Historic Buildings

The Church of Santo Stefano di Triginto is the religious center of the joint parish of Triginto and Mediglia. Its Cappella del Crocefisso contains a large wooden crucifix dating from 1679. The Cappella dei Magi also contains a 17th-century canvas. Culture enthusiasts will find sacred spaces and two clearly identified works of art there: the crucifix and the canvas.

The Chiesa di San Martino Olearo has a simple façade with a gable. In front of it is a porch supported by pillars, positioned before the single central entrance. The nave is covered by a wooden coffered ceiling. The church architecture is therefore not limited to the façade, but continues in the nave with the coffered ceiling. Cascina Castello is a fortified agricultural building dating from the 14th century, with a square tower and a large terracotta entrance arch. Cascina Castello dates from the 14th century, while the church's crucifix and canvas date from the 17th century.

Landscape, Springs and Cycling Route

Natural springs occur in the Mediglia area. They are known as Fontanili or Risorgive and form when underground groundwater emerges at the surface. Mediglia is one of the municipalities within the Parco Agricolo Sud Milano. Old bread ovens are still preserved in Mediglia's Cascine.

The approximately 17-kilometre-long CAMBIO cycling route, Line 7, connects Linate with Paullo and passes through Mediglia. For planning a day of cycling, the approximate distance provides a neutral guideline. Those planning the route as a separate stage can allow for approximately 17 kilometres; Linate and Paullo remain the two connection points. The approximate figure deliberately does not assume an exact value.
