Mining World and Underground Trails
The Museo delle Miniere houses a collection of materials from the mining world of Gorno. The museum also offers historical film footage about mining activities. Both physical materials and historical footage of mining work are therefore central to the museum’s displays.
The Costa Jels-imbocco Serpenti route features interactive stations. The route also includes a small mine called “Galecc”, equipped with wooden features. The small “Galecc” mine is intended for children up to 8 years old. The underground tour passes through the old mines of “Costa Jels-imbocco Serpenti” and connects the route with an underground experience. The interactive stations and the mine are therefore part of the same route offering.
The Ecomuseum and Its Guided Tours
The Ecomuseo delle miniere di Gorno is located in the Polo socioculturale “Contrada Villassio”.
The Ecomuseo delle miniere di Gorno includes a guided underground tour lasting approximately one and a half hours through the old mines of “Costa Jels-imbocco Serpenti”. A guided visit to the Ecomuseo delle miniere di Gorno lasts approximately three hours.
The two guided-tour formats therefore differ in duration. The underground tour is listed as lasting approximately one and a half hours, while the guided visit lasts approximately three hours. Both figures are approximate and are therefore intended as a guide for planning the timing of a visit. This provides two guided-tour formats of different lengths for planning the day.
Guided visits are scheduled for the second Sunday of each month and require a reservation. The fixed appointment on the second Sunday gives this format a recurring monthly schedule.
