The Church of San Dalmazzo has a Romanesque bell tower dating from the 12th century, built of hewn stone blocks and featuring two rows of bifora windows. Its stone portal, dating from 1445, bears a frescoed lunette depicting the Madonna and Child, attributed to Giovanni Canavesio. Pornassio Castle stands on a hill overlooking the entire town.

The Colombaia in Ottano was built in 1612 and was probably formerly used as a watchtower. The Santuario “N.S. del Santissimo Nome” in San Luigi was built by 1775. Ponti is considered the oldest and architecturally most interesting settlement in the Pornassio area and has a stone portal in Vico Arroscia dating from 1169.

The Pietra delle Croci in Audeburghi has a distinctive shape: the erratic boulder is almost a regular pentagon, with touching pagan crosses engraved into it. The Napoleonic forts include Montescio, Bellarasco, Pozzanghi, Richermo, and Centrale. They were built around 1870 under the direction of General De Sonnaz from hewn stone blocks bonded with mortar.

Regional wine culture

Ormeasco is considered Pornassio’s most important typical wine product and is a ruby-red wine. Ormesco Sciac-trà is a naturally rosé-coloured wine made by producing white wine from Ormeasco grapes.
