Holiday apartment in Olevano Romano among greenery and trails
Parco dell’Acqua Santa is one of the most important green spaces in Olevano Romano and offers opportunities for walks and outdoor activities. To the north of the town, Villa Serpentara stands at the centre of the Serpentara woodland. The oaks growing on the bare rocks of this woodland became a favourite and much-studied forest motif among the Romantics.
The municipal circular route recommends walking to the remains of Olevano Romano’s Cyclopean wall and climbing the Baron’s Tower to look out over the Alta Valle del Sacco. On the Cammino di San Tommaso, the route towards Olevano Romano initially leads downhill into the valley and then climbs up to the town along a steep, asphalted country road.

The DOC Cesanese di Olevano Romano comprises six types of wine: Cesanese di Olevano Romano, Cesanese di Olevano Romano Amabile, Cesanese di Olevano Romano Dolce, Cesanese di Olevano Romano Dolce Frizzante, Cesanese di Olevano Romano Superiore and Cesanese di Olevano Romano Riserva. The production area encompasses Olevano Romano as well as part of the territory of the municipality of Genazzano.
Olevano Romano’s Sagra del Cesanese reached its 50th edition in 2025. At the 50th Sagra del Vino Cesanese, a traditional parade of allegorical floats was held on 31 August 2025. The festival of San Rocco is a religious and civic celebration for local residents, with volunteers helping to ensure its success; it includes the distribution of blessed bread.
