The Confraternity of the Holy Spirit, dedicated to the Chiesa dello Spirito Santo, was founded on its premises in 1778. The Church of San Rocco in Scilla is a destination for ongoing pilgrimages. Volunteers keep it open all year round. The pronaos of the Chiesa Matrice features a marble colonnade with six Ionic columns. The church also houses a marble sculpture of the Apostle Peter attributed to Bernini's school. On Sunday evening, the statue of San Roccheddu is returned to the main church, while fireworks illuminate the Strait of Messina.
