The Sentiero Marturano is an uphill trail of approximately 0.86 km that connects the Marinella district with Porelli and provides direct access to the Belvedere. The trail on Monte Cocuzzo is located in the Bagnara Calabra area and is 3.85 km long. The different distances help you fit active sections into your daily plans according to their length and character.

Fortress, Bridge and Viewpoint

The town's architectural history also provides distinctive points of reference during your stay. Torre di Capo Rocchi is dated to the 14th century or, at the latest, the 15th century. Castello Ducale Ruffo is also known as Castello Emmarita and Palazzo ducale Ruffo; it is an ancient fortification on the Marturano promontory in the upper part of Bagnara. It is a Norman fortress built around the 11th century on the orders of Count Ruggero, the future King Ruggero II of the Regnum Siciliae, to repel Saracen incursions. Ponte Caravilla was built in 1825 and bears the name of the engineer who designed it. Anfiteatro Belvedere is a viewpoint in Bagnara Calabra.
