Culture
The Kemenesmagasi Citerazenekar és Népdalkör Hagyományőrző Egyesület association from Kemenesmagasi received the Aranypáva Grand Prize at a KÓTA qualification event.
The Protestant church in Kemenesmagasi preserves an interior dating from 1903, featuring a pulpit altar ensemble with Hungarian motifs, a copper crucifix, candle holders, a decorative Bible, a gallery on iron columns, pews, an organ, and an altarpiece. A marble plaque in the nave commemorates 41 Protestant soldiers who fell in the First World War.
The Roman Catholic Jézus-Szíve Church in Kemenesmagasi dates back to the 15th century and was redesigned in the Neo-Gothic style around the turn of the 20th century. Inside, there is a wooden gallery on cast-iron columns on one side and a pulpit connected to the altar on the other; the main altarpiece depicts Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane.
History
The Berzsenyi crypt in the municipal cemetery of Kemenesmagasi has protected status MK 2007/173. The Berzsenyi family crypt in the cemetery on the outskirts of Kemenesmagasi was built from 1906 by Dr. Berzsenyi Dezső; after its completion, Honvéd Colonel Berzsenyi Lénárd from 1848 was subsequently buried there.
Berzsenyi Lénárd, whose crypt is located in the municipal cemetery of Kemenesmagasi, made portraits of a total of 132 fellow prisoners as well as himself in the prison of the Olmütz fortress.
Events
The Kemenesmagasi Koronglövő Lőtér clay pigeon shooting range was completed in 2006 and reopened in April 2014 under the name Stüszi Lőtér after being renovated and expanded by Magasi Tölgy Kft. Stüszi Lőtér is equipped for events for groups of friends and for holding competitions. Visits to Stüszi Lőtér are only possible at times reserved in advance; telephone registration is required in all cases.
At the 5th Kemenesmagasi Disznótor at the Kemenesmagasi Tájház, visitors can expect a traditional village pig-slaughtering day, a morning toast, a hearty slaughter breakfast, festivities lasting until the evening, and dishes that can only be tasted at the open-air museum.
