Volcanoes in the Park and on Ság-hegy

The exhibition at Kemenes Vulkán Park, covering just under 1,000 square metres, presents the world of volcanoes interactively. Simulators and a short film complement the displays. Those who would prefer to explore the subject through a guided activity can consider one of the park’s volcano tours: participants learn about the formation of Ság-hegy in an engaging way. The exhibition and the tour therefore have different focuses—interactive interpretation in the park, on the one hand, and the hill’s formation, on the other.

Ság-hegy rises on the edge of Celldömölk. Its entire area has been protected since 1975; the Sághegyi Tájvédelmi Körzet protects the hill’s geological features and distinctive animal and plant life. The Trianoni Emlékkereszt is also located on Ság-hegy. The hill’s volcanic origins, nature protection and memorial give it different meanings, which can be considered side by side when exploring the landscape.

Market Days with Regional Produce

At Celldömölk’s market, local producers sell their goods on Thursdays and Saturdays in the square in front of the pilgrimage church and in the covered market hall. The covered market offers honey, cheese, fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit, pickled vegetables, jams and syrups. In addition to fresh produce, visitors can also find preserved products.
