Culture and History
The Roman Catholic church is a central ornament of Hajmás village centre and was built in 1927. A memorial plaque at the Roman Catholic church lists the names of 19 fallen soldiers from the First World War and nine victims of the Second World War.
In the village centre of Hajmás, a fully restored old fire engine is preserved and displayed as a memorial. In the first decades of the 20th century, the Hajmás fire brigade was one of the earliest associations in the municipality.
The formerly German-settled part of Hajmás was once called Németfalu. The more densely built-up part of Hajmás, inhabited by Hungarians and now known as Kossuth utca, was called Magyarfalu.
In Hajmás, a church festival is celebrated in honour of Nagyboldogasszony on 15 August or the nearest weekend. In the part of the village inhabited by Swabians, a second church festival was formerly held in November on Saint Elisabeth's Day.

The 55.9-kilometre cycling loop tour “Körtúra a Zselic kiemelt látnivalóihoz” passes through Hajmás after 37.4 kilometres.
The Zselicvölgy Szabadidőfarm, also called Hajmási szabadidőfarm, lies along the route before Hajmás. Near Hajmás, the facility is considered one of the natural, cultural and other attractions. It offers visitors wellness services, a restaurant and sports facilities, and promotes family leisure activities and events in every season. The restaurant promotes traditional Hungarian flavours and special dishes made with local ingredients in picturesque surroundings.
