Thermal Water

Csokonya Thermal has two outdoor therapeutic pools that are open year-round and filled with therapeutic water at 35 to 37 °C. There are also two covered therapeutic pools at 35 to 37 °C, as well as a 20 °C cold plunge pool.

Nature

The Csokonyavisontai Fás Legelő Nature Reserve is located within the municipality of Csokonyavisonta. It is a nationally significant protected area covering approximately 440 hectares.

Nearly 300 species of higher plants can be found in the Csokonyavisontai Fás Legelő nature reserve, including 10 protected species. Among others, black storks, black kites and honey buzzards breed there.

The Soblányas Hegy, Három Fa, Kishegy and Istvándi hills are located in the surroundings of Csokonyavisonta.

Culture and Activities

Xantus-Liget is located in Alexandra-puszta in Csokonyavisonta, 5 km from the main road. There, visitors can try their hand at making clay vessels – from the simplest hand-shaped vessel to throwing pottery on a wheel, including various decoration techniques and traditional firing methods.

Xantus-Liget also features a permanent exhibition presenting the area's flora and fauna in Csokonyavisonta. Xantus-Liget organises guided excursions, including a botanical tour showcasing the local plant communities.

Several local farms in Csokonyavisonta offer horse riding for beginners and advanced riders.

History

The Reformed Church of Csokonyavisonta originated from a former manorial granary, which László Malik had originally commissioned as a church around 1780. After his death, the building remained unfinished and was converted into a granary.
