The Dera and its tributary, the Kovácsi, wind through Csobánka for more than 2.5 kilometres, creating a variety of habitats. Hiking Trails with Different Distances
The five trails described differ in length, route and elevation figures. Some are circular routes that return to their starting point; others begin in Margitliget and end at an information board. The Szent-kúti ösvény is a six-kilometre loop. It starts at the “Csobánkai templomok” board in front of the Serbian church and ends there again. The route passes six boards; its elevation difference is 220 metres.
Two shorter loop trails start and finish at Oszoly-pihenő. The Oszoly ösvény is 2.25 kilometres long, passes nine boards and has an elevation difference of 60 metres. The Mackó-barlang ösvény is a 3.9-kilometre loop with ten boards and an elevation difference of 210 metres. This makes it possible to compare two loop trails with the same start and end point by their distance and elevation figures. Oszoly-pihenő is accessible by car from Csobánka’s Fő tér.
Two more trails start in Margitliget. The Fehér sziklák ösvény is seven kilometres long and ends at the “Csobánka templomai” board. The route has 21 boards and four viewpoints; the stated figures are a total ascent of 300 metres and a descent of 210 metres. The Erdőszéli ösvény leads from Margitliget to the “Csobánkai templomok” board. It is 5.5 kilometres long, passes 17 boards and has an ascent of 140 metres and a descent of 53 metres. For these two routes, you can compare not only their lengths but also their start and end points and separately stated elevation figures.
