The Ballószögi Szüreti Napok is considered the largest event of the year in Ballószög and traditionally takes place on the second weekend of September. Another traditional event is the Ballószögi Kakasfőző Majális. It features demonstrations, stage performances, a market, children’s games and food. A specific example from an earlier programme is the Ballószögi Értékjáró Séta, announced for 16 October 2021. The Sculpture Garden and local history
The Sculpture Garden is located in front of Ballószög’s Polgármesteri Hivatal (Town Hall) and is considered a popular place in the town. The ensemble’s final work was completed in March 2008. It commemorates the heroes of the 1848–1849 Revolution and War of Independence. This offers a contrast between festival traditions and a permanent memorial theme: one is associated with a traditional weekend in September, while the other has a specific historical connection in the Sculpture Garden.

The Boróka nature trail in Bugac is 1,100 metres long and features information boards and interactive stops such as a forest xylophone and a toy telescope. At Lake Szelid, a nature trail about blue-green algae covers the lake’s development, the properties of its water, the organisms living there and the wildlife in the surrounding area. It has twelve information stations, and the trail is accessible on foot and by bicycle year-round. Local conditions may change, so you can check access in advance for your planned visit.
