Zschopau's protected old town preserves a medieval street plan, town houses from the second half of the 18th century in a simple Baroque style, parts of the late-medieval town wall built in 1495, Wildeck Palace and St. Martin's Church.

Cycling

The Zschopau Valley Cycle Route runs for 137 kilometres through the Zschopau Valley. Through Zschopau, it runs between Oberwiesenthal and the area near Döbeln. From the source of the Zschopau to Flöha, the cycle route is continuously signposted for 82 kilometres.

For arrival, the Erzgebirge Railway serves two stops within Zschopau. Public transport provides access to the entire city of Zschopau and the Krumhermersdorf district. Zschopau railway stop provides access to the city centre and Wildeck Palace. From the station, Wildeck Palace, its garden and the historic old town can be reached via the Zschopau bridge and stairs. The Tourist Information office is located at the museum desk of Wildeck Palace in the historic old-town centre.
