History and Culture

The preserved hammer mill owner’s manor bears witness to the industrial past. The two-storey Baroque manor house has a clock tower and a Baroque dome; its main portal is dated to 1677.

“Albernau, St. Johannis Church” is also located near Blauenthal. “Bärenwalde, Church” and “Aue, St. Nicolai Church” are located in the surrounding area. In the wider regional area is “Annaberg-Buchholz, former Franciscan monastery”.

Nature and Cycling Routes

The Blauenthal Waterfall plunges approximately 30 metres over granite rocks. In winter, the ice formations are used for ice climbing.

Via the Karlsroute, Blauenthal is directly connected to the Mulderadweg cycle path. The route crosses the Ore Mountain ridge near the Bohemian border at an altitude of 950 metres and then leads downhill towards Karlovy Vary.
