Nonnewitz comprises the former villages of Bröditz, Nonnewitz, and Nixdix. Bröditz was first documented on August 1, 976, and was donated by Emperor Otto II to the Diocese of Zeitz.
In the regional context, Zeitz offers restored sights such as the town hall, Moritzburg Castle, the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, and the palace park. The city’s historic sights are connected to the Romanesque Route and Garden Dreams routes.
