Walsdorf: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

South of Walsdorf lies the Walsdorfer Maar, a dry maar covering an area of approximately 115 hectares. It is one of the larger dry maars in the Eifel and contains rare and protected plants, including wild orchids. Cycling

A suggested mountain bike route around Walsdorf-Zilsdorf covers 48.3 kilometres, with 680 metres of ascent and 670 metres of descent. The Kalkeifel Cycle Route connects the Kyll Cycle Route and the Ahr Cycle Route over 20 kilometres, following a former railway line across the watershed.

Culture

The present-day parish church of Saint Arnulphus in Walsdorf was built in 1828, partly using material from the former church on Arnulphusberg. The small wayside shrine north of Zilsdorf is a small rendered building with a moulded round-arched portal dating from 1664.

The Chapel of Saint Anthony was rebuilt in 1815 and is a two-bay hall church. The Chapel of Prayer and Protection on the Arensberg was built in 1988. It stands on the path to the former Arnulphus Church, next to a processional cross approximately 350 years old.
