Rinnthal: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rinnthal is located in the Queich Valley, surrounded by distinctive red sandstone cliffs and extensive wooded surroundings. There are developed and signposted hiking trails running through the area.

Hiking

The Herzelweg encircles the village of Rinnthal. The easy hike is 9.4 kilometres long and takes around three hours. The Hüttenweg leads from Rinnthal to the Jungpfalzhütte hut. It is designated as a moderately difficult route covering 7.2 kilometres and taking around 2.5 hours.

The Höhenweg reaches the Buchholzfelsen and Wackelstein rocks. The cliffs along the Höhenweg offer views across the Palatinate Forest. The Römerweg runs along broad forest paths through the Palatinate Forest. It can be reached by train and bus and is described as a circular route with cultural and historical features.

The Maronenweg leads along a short route to chestnut trees below the Kostenfelsen. This easy circular hike, approximately 3.5 kilometres long, takes about one hour and is suitable for pushchairs.

At the same time, the municipality of Rinnthal warns that some hiking trails may be partially or completely closed seasonally to protect nature and species.

Further Trails and Places

The Triftweg begins in the centre of Rinnthal, opposite the church at the information and hiking board. Along the trail, information boards explain timber rafting; there is a place to rest opposite the Fischerhütte.

The Valley of Generations recreational area, which is open during the day, includes a forest stage, a tree house, a play area, a rope and climbing course, a sandstone atrium and a log cabin.

Cycling

The Queich Valley Cycle Route also reaches Rinnthal from Hauenstein via Wilgartswiesen. In Rinnthal, it continues as a cycle path alongside the road towards Annweiler am Trifels.
