Culture

The villagescape’s Winzergasse is lined with half-timbered houses arranged in a staggered layout. St. Dionysius Parish Church is a Baroque hall church built by the Electoral Palatinate architect Kaspar Valerius between 1746 and 1748. The character of the village is defined by its vineyard landscape, forests and panoramic views, as well as local restaurants serving traditional Palatinate cuisine and Gleiszellen wine; local winemakers offer wine tastings.

Nature and Trails

Benches beside the artwork Blickpunkt zur Landschaft provide a place to rest along the Muskateller circular hiking trail. The mixed-forest hiking trail passes through forests with sweet chestnuts and Scots pines and offers cool, shady paths in hot weather.

The German Wine Route cycle path runs through Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach. The 32-kilometre Faßbodentour No. 2 is a circular route that starts in Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach. Geocaching in and around Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach uses a compass and GPS for treasure hunts.
