In the center of Wendelsheim stands Salmsches Castle. It is one of the few surviving buildings associated with Rhinegrave Carl Magnus and is privately owned.

The Evangelical Church in Wendelsheim preserves the lower part of a Romanesque chancel tower probably dating from the 12th century, as well as an apse. The nave was rebuilt in 1783. Remains of the former fortified churchyard wall and two shell towers have survived.

The Böllerkirche is located near Wendelsheim. The surrounding area of Wendelsheim is home to Alzey Castle, the Prison Tower, and the Gray Tower.
