Trails and views on the Großes Holz spoil tip
The Großes Holz spoil tip covers 140 hectares and offers more than 40 kilometres of hiking trails. From Adener Höhe, you can see across the Münsterland, the Sauerland, and the eastern and western Ruhr region. This makes it possible to combine a visit to the spoil tip with expansive views. Another striking feature is located at its summit: the light art installation IMPULS Bergkamen by Maik and Dirk Löbbert. Bergkamen Roman Park features a Roman timber-and-earth wall, reconstructed from original plans. It gives the park a striking historical feature. Rünthe Marina and nature at Lake Bever
The Westphalian Sports Boat Centre at Rünthe Marina is one of the largest marinas in North Rhine-Westphalia and has more than 300 recreational boats. Together with the Roman-Lippe Route, which leads to the marina in Bergkamen, the harbour is a destination in its own right for anyone interested in cycling and recreational boats. Lake Bever offers a different kind of experience: the nature reserve is connected to the Route of Industrial Nature. You can enjoy hikes along the Route of Industrial Nature and bat tours there.
