Brühl offers different ways to explore the town and its themes: the Book Route combines puzzles and audio tracks with the history of the town’s districts, the Art Walk leads through the historic town centre, and the Mill Tour follows a circular route. Routes with Different Themes
The Brühl Book Route is a 10.8 km Actionbound adventure tour. It connects book-lending boxes around Brühl and shares interesting facts about the history of the town’s districts. Audio tracks and puzzles are also part of the concept. The tour can be flexibly divided into three stages of three kilometres each. This gives you the option of planning for the full distance or splitting it into several sections.
The approximately 12 km Mill Tour is a circular walking route through Brühl. It starts and ends in the palace park. Unlike the Actionbound tours, it is described as a circular route, so the starting point and endpoint are the same. If you are interested in a longer walk, you can compare this route with the shorter art tour.
The Brühl Art Walk is an interactive, 3.1 km Actionbound art tour through the historic town centre. It starts at the “Brühl-Mitte” stop, in the direction of Bonn.
Palace Gardens and Other Experiences
The gardens of Augustusburg Palace also give Brühl a distinctive character. They are among the few gardens in Europe to have been restored according to their original plan. If you are interested in garden design and landscaping, you will find a different focus here than on the interactive town tours. When planning your stay, you can therefore consider whether you would rather spend your time on a route, art and local history, or the palace gardens.
The Kletterwald Schwindelfrei high ropes course and Phantasialand offer further independent experiences. At Kletterwald, a GPS treasure hunt is available, for which a booking enquiry is required. Phantasialand’s Deep in Africa themed area is home to the Adventure Trail. These activities add a treasure hunt or a trail within a themed area to the options; they are not the same as the routes through the town.
