Kirchherten: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Catholic parish church of St. Martinus in Kirchherten has been documented since 1288. Between 1857 and 1861, it was replaced by a larger church building, while the older tower was preserved.

Culture

The listed House Church is described as the oldest Protestant church still in use in the Rhein-Erft district and was built on the edge of the village in 1684.

The Grottenherten tower windmill was built in 1831. Its shingle cap, sails, windmill machinery, and milling equipment have been preserved; it is described as still being operational.

The historic buildings in Kirchherten also include a half-timbered house dating from 1558 at Zaunstraße 99. Historic brick buildings stand on Pützer Straße and are connected with the former Maria Hilf monastery.
