The Lenne Trail is an 81.4 km moderately difficult hiking route in the Sauerland Rothaar Mountains Nature Park.

Cycling

Lennestadt is one of four main towns along the SauerlandRadring. The SauerlandRadring can be reached by public transport from the train stations in Grevenbrück and Altenhundem. Culture and History

Peperburg was the oldest seat of power in the eastern Südsauerland region. In Grevenbrück, Peperburg is a castle ruin in the Breiter Hagen nature reserve. The complex was used from the first half of the 12th century until the final decades of the 13th century; only the foundations of the southern part of the castle remain.

The caves near Grevenbrück contain the oldest known traces of human activity in the Lennestadt area. In the Lennestadt City Museum, the permanent exhibition “43/1 – Unity in Diversity” presents the history of Lennestadt and its surroundings.

Nature and Winter

The limestone quarry next to Peperburg is associated with the Sauerland Seelenorte. A lookout tower stands on the Hohe Bracht in Lennestadt at an elevation of 588 m. Hiking, walking, cycling and winter sports are possible at the Hohe Bracht.
