Beringhausen: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Beringhauser Aussichten themed trail is a moderately difficult 8.4-kilometre hike with 281 metres of elevation gain. It offers panoramic views across the Hoppecke Valley towards Obermarsberg, the Diemelsee and the Waldecker Upland. The trail features viewpoints, panoramic information boards, forest sofas and panoramic windows.

Nature

Beringhausen is located in the Hoppecke Valley, whose steep slopes are accessible via wooded paths. The landscape also includes two former red iron ore mining sites: the Antonie mine south of the village and the Grottenberg to the west, near a diabase quarry.

Culture

The Jewish cemetery of Beringhausen is situated on the slope near the road to Padberg. It contains 39 gravestones, most of which date from the second half of the 19th century and are predominantly enclosed by narrow, vertically standing sandstone slabs.

Next to the Hoppecke Bridge in the village centre stands a preserved sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. It is approximately 160 centimetres high and probably dates from the mid-18th century.

Parts of the furnishings of the Catholic parish church of St. Mark are significant evidence of the older history of the Beringhausen parish. The former church, dating from the 13th century, was demolished in 1922.

Beringhausen has a railway station with a request stop and bus connections. Parking is available at the Catholic parish church of St. Mark.
