Cyclists have two different routes to consider. The Berlin–Usedom long-distance cycle route passes through Ferdinandshof. There is also an approximately 5.7-kilometre cycle path from Ferdinandshof to the junction with the VG 52 district road near Café 70; southwest of there, it runs almost parallel to the B 109. Local history at the Brandstall and the church
The Brandstall brings together several chapters of local history. It was originally built as a stable complex for breeding horses to train remounts. The Church of the Holy Trinity stands on the Scharmützel, in the middle of the cemetery and outside the village of Ferdinandshof. It was built between 1723 and 1726 as a rectangular hall church and extended in 1747. Its location therefore differs from that of a visit to the Brandstall: the church stands outside the village, while the Brandstall, as a cultural centre and local history room, offers a dedicated focus on local history and events.
Getting here and more travel ideas
Ferdinandshof lies on the B 109 between Berlin and Greifswald and on the Angermünde–Stralsund railway line. It can therefore be reached by both road and rail. Tourists often use the railway station to cycle to Ueckermünde, around 15 kilometres away.
The Advent season also has a musical highlight: the joint Christmas concerts by the Haff Big Band and the Ferdinandshof primary school’s brass classes take place every year and are considered a highlight of the season. The concerts may help you choose your travel dates based on your interests.
