Cycling and nature at Bolzer See
Tour 4 passes through Mustin; the section of Tour 4 in Ruchow also has a specific rest stop: there is a covered pavilion there that is suitable for taking a break. If you include the route in your travel plans, you can explore both the section through Mustin and the rest pavilion in Ruchow, both of which are described features of the tour. The pavilion offers an opportunity to plan a break along the way, without implying any information about distance or travel time.
The Bolzer See Nature Reserve offers a different kind of nature experience. It encompasses the entire Bolzer See and the surrounding shoreline and covers 112 hectares. A path from Bolz provides views into the protected area. If you would like to give nature and exercise different levels of emphasis, you can consider these impressions alongside the cycling tour.
Village church, organs and history in Ruchow
Ruchow village church is a fieldstone church first mentioned before 1234. Its furnishings include a Baroque altar and two valuable historic organs.
Concerts in the “Music in Old Walls” series are held regularly in the village church. This gives Ruchow a musical dimension alongside its architectural and historical features. Ludwig Reinhard, a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly, is buried in the cemetery. Another local attraction is Ruchow windmill, which has been beautifully renovated.
Crafts and discoveries in Lenzen
In Lenzen, the Braun pottery offers a wide selection of traditional brown tableware in the Bunzlau style. This gives the town its own distinctive craft focus, setting the offering apart from its nature and church-related attractions. The “Werk2” workshop is also located in Lenzen. The Plant and Pot Day is held there every year on 1 May. If you are interested in plants, pottery or traditional crafts, these are specific themes to include in your plans for exploring Lenzen.
The Lenzener Steintanz can also be considered as a destination in its own right: it lies on a well-signposted circular route near the “Dröger Kraug” rest area. The route and nearby rest area provide a reference point when choosing this experience. Alongside the cycling tour, nature reserve and cultural attractions, there are therefore other points of interest with their own distinctive character.
