Beach, pier and steep coast

Public beach volleyball nets are available on Boltenhagen beach. If you would like to take in the coastal views, you can stroll along the pier. From there, you can enjoy views of the white sandy beach, the town and the Baltic Sea. The pier is 290 metres long, was opened in 1992 and is accessible to people with disabilities.

The steep coast offers a different kind of shoreline. It rises to a height of 35 metres and is classified as a glacial debris coast. With a little luck, walkers may discover fossils at the foot of the steep coast. The beach and steep coast therefore offer contrasting impressions of the Boltenhagen shoreline: on one side, the white sandy beach and views from the pier; on the other, the raised coastal edge and the chance to look for fossils.

Spa gardens and culture

The spa gardens host a varied programme of events for all ages throughout the year. These include children's activities and spa concerts, as well as silent discos and party evenings. The different formats give the events programme a range of distinct attractions, including activities specifically for children.

The spa gardens feature covered promenades, a concert pavilion, a 500-metre-long box hedge, white wooden benches and the drinking spa hall. The ground floor of the spa house is home to the tourist information office and the spa library. These facilities and the various features of the park can help you find your way around if you are interested in events and spa life in Boltenhagen.

The town is also shaped by its historic spa architecture. One specific example is the Protestant Church of St Paulshöhe: this rectangular, Neo-Gothic brick building was opened in 1873. Fishing and exercise

A fishing trip aboard the Uschi fishing boat offers an insight into the traditional craft of coastal fishing. It departs from Tarnewitz at Weiße Wiek, starts at around 6 a.m. and lasts approximately 3 hours. There is also an opportunity to take the helm yourself during the trip. A small fleet of fishing boats supplies the town with fresh fish at the fishing harbour. Those interested in local fishing can encounter it not only on a fishing trip but also as part of Boltenhagen's food supply.
