The Nienburg Bear Trail through the Old Town

The 3.3-kilometre circular route leads through Nienburg’s Old Town and is marked by 500 large white bear paw prints on the pavement. The trail is renewed every year. The route passes 32 Nienburg sights, including the Town Hall and St. Martin’s Parish Church, Fresenhof and Posthof, as well as Quaet-Faslem-Haus with its asparagus museum. The Nienburg Museum’s permanent exhibition presents the history of the town and the district of Nienburg/Weser. It is housed in Nienburg’s oldest half-timbered building. The museum thus explores both the town’s history and traces of the region’s past.

The Lower Saxony Police Museum, permanently located at Lange Straße 20–22 in Nienburg, explores the work and history of the police. The museum also offers insights into the various modes of transport used by the Lower Saxony police since the Second World War.
