Weener's Old Harbor was established around 1570 and is enclosed by public buildings, small houses, and warehouses. The harbor is associated with traditional vessels, including historic inland and seagoing ships as well as sailing and motor vessels.
Weener has a 40,000-square-meter marina from which boat trips can be taken on the inland waters of East Frisia and the Netherlands, as well as on the open sea. The harbor facilities include a boat lift, a slipway, accessible sanitary facilities, a winter storage hall, a workshop, and several restaurants.
The surrounding area of Weener includes Fleche a/d Lethe and Bigumer Sand. Paths are being repaired in the Stadtwald Holthusen woodland area.
