Asterode: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Asterode’s history includes the present-day church and a documented tradition of the place name dating back to the Middle Ages. The former church collapsed in 1845; the present-day church was rebuilt at a new location in 1850. The construction period of the present-day church is recorded as 1850–1851. It received its organ in 1882 as a gift from local resident Christine Schreiber, née Muth.

Asterode has been documented under the name “Alsterode” since 1240. Later forms of the name are “Astinerode” and “Asterode”; this provides evidence of a long-established local historical context.
