History

Sarnau is located on the historic Alte Weinstraße and has been documented since 1200. The early chapel was replaced in 1704 by a half-timbered church and later by a concrete church.

Sarnau’s former railway junction was replaced in 2010 by a passenger stop located closer to the edge of the village.
