Hergershausen: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Alheimer is located near Hergershausen and is the highest elevation in the Stölzinger Mountains. A 16-metre-high observation tower offers sweeping views over the Mittleres Fuldatal adventure region.

Those wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Hergershausen can then continue their accommodation search. The church in Hergershausen preserves historic memorial plaques commemorating the wars of 1814 and 1870–71, as well as the First and Second World Wars. Its organ dates from 1834; the stained-glass window in the altar area was created by Hilde Ferber in 1954.

The surrounding area of Hergershausen is home to Ludwigseck Castle, Heydau Monastery and Wildsberg. Further afield in the region are Neuenstein Castle and Reichenbach Castle Ruins.

Kaiserkopf and Alter Turm are also located near Hergershausen.

An 8-kilometre water adventure trail runs from the area east of Obergude to the mouth of the Gudebach into the Fulda. Its main attraction at Wieselplatz, between Erdpenhausen and Niedergude, focuses on hydropower and includes a draw well, a watercourse play area, an Archimedes' screw, flow tables, seating and barbecue facilities.
