Village museum and local history
The Erzhausen Village Museum is housed in the Schillerschule, built in 1863. Its collection consists mainly of exhibits from the last two centuries. It includes a historic pharmacy and Erich Lotz’s former shoemaking workshop. School items, toys, musical instruments, maps, building plans, and old photographs and postcards round out the collection. Objects from crafts and school life are displayed alongside pictures and maps. Historical connections reach much further back than the museum collection. Bronze Age burial mounds, about 3,500 years old, are located in Sensfelder Tanne. The KuK arts and culture initiative organises small events at special venues in Erzhausen. Erzhausen has good S-Bahn rail connections along the Frankfurt–Darmstadt corridor.
