The fitness island is located on the grounds of the former playground behind Kirchroth Primary School. It is equipped with a total of 17 outdoor fitness and exercise stations: four stations are part of the climbing, coordination and dynamics island, five of the exercise equipment island and three of the strength island; there is also an obstacle course with five stations. This layout offers a range of activities—from climbing and coordination to strength training and obstacle courses. The equipment can be used individually or in groups by children and young people, seniors, recreational athletes and people with disabilities. St. Vitus: a different perspective on Kirchroth
St. Vitus Catholic Parish Church adds a cultural dimension. It was built in the mid-17th century, has a Gothic lower tower and is furnished. A scenic highlight in the wider Straubing-Bogen destination is the circular trail around Beckenweiher in Wiesenfelden. The accessible trail is 2.3 kilometres long and suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Five information points with benches and information boards cover the local wildlife and plant life, the pond’s protected status and its history; the circular trail also crosses a 110-metre nature observation boardwalk.
