Play Worlds and Getting Your Bearings at the FunPark

The PLAYMOBIL FunPark covers 90,000 m² in Zirndorf. Its oversized PLAYMOBIL play worlds invite visitors to step into different roles: they can play at being pirates, dinosaur researchers, knights, ladies of the castle or princesses, for example. For families who want to make these fantasy worlds the focus of their visit, this offers a practical starting point for planning.

The park also includes the 5,000 m² glass-enclosed HOB-Center. Life-size PLAYMOBIL sets, spacious play areas, a show stage, themed dining and a coffee bar define this area. The size of the park and its different play and activity areas give you an idea of how important a visit could be to your travel plans.

The FunPark is almost completely accessible: all paths can be used with a wheelchair or pushchair, and lifts or ramps are available where needed. If specific accessibility details are important for your visit, check them in advance. The park is about a 45-minute walk from Zirndorf town centre. From Zirndorf station, a well-signposted route follows the Bibert; the walking time refers to the route from the town centre.

Historic Squares and Craftsmanship

St. Rochus town church shapes the character of the historic town centre. The historic brewery grounds next to the church form a particularly noteworthy ensemble.

Koppenplatz is also one of Zirndorf’s oldest squares. Its fountain is decorated with Zirndorf toys, adding a distinctive feature to the townscape. Another trace of the past leads to the Zirndorf horseshoe and wagon forge: first mentioned in 1306, it is one of the town’s oldest buildings. The forge closed in 1974. The square, fountain, church and forge represent different chapters in the town’s history, from designed public spaces to traditional crafts.

Alte Veste: History and Views

The Alte Veste was at the centre of events in the Thirty Years’ War in 1632. The fortification was the main stronghold of Wallenstein’s camp against King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden. The tower at the Alte Veste was rebuilt in 1980 and offers views over Zirndorf, Nuremberg, Fürth and the surrounding area. A Viscope on its observation platform enhances the view by projecting Wallenstein’s camp onto the landscape. This viewpoint thus combines a wide panorama with a specific historical interpretation.

Outdoor Activities and Nature at Kneipp-Allee

Kneipp-Allee offers a different focus from the park and town centre. It has a protected stand of oak trees about 130 years old, designated as a natural monument. The grounds invite visitors to walk, Nordic walk, jog, cycle and play. This range of activities can help you decide whether to make time for outdoor exercise as well as culture and play worlds. The oak trees connect the nature theme with a distinctive protected feature of Kneipp-Allee.
