Culture
Winzer is a market town in the eastern part of the Deggendorf district in Lower Bavaria.
Winzer developed below the castle hill as a medieval lordly market town. Remains of its former fortification wall are still preserved.
In 1322, Winzer was granted market rights, which enabled open trade and commercial exchange. The market was held along the expanded thoroughfare between the eastern and western gates of Oberwinzer.
