Culture and History
Marxheim is a municipality in the Bavarian administrative district of Swabia and in the district of Donau-Ries.
Marxheim's present municipal structure developed through Bavarian territorial reforms, in the course of which Burgmannshofen, Gansheim, Graisbach, Neuhausen and Schweinspoint were incorporated.
Marxheim has historical ties to the former Duchy of Neuburg-Sulzbach and its Graisbach court; from 1777, the area belonged to the Electorate of Bavaria.
The present municipality includes the former Graisbach court district as well as the historic Hofmarks of Gansheim and Schweinspoint.
